Chapter advisor Beth Briggs told the group that she was “really pleased” about the revisions to the school district’s drug and alcohol policies.
She noted that police and juvenile authorities will be contacted when drugs or alcohol are found on school property, and that warrants or juvenile petitions will be sought. “The board has taken a much firmer stance, including an automatic suspension when drugs or alcohol are found. Last year the authorities were called, but warrants were not sought in all cases. ”
