Agriculture in
action at State Fair
The Virginia World complex at the State Fair of Virginia will focus on agriculture September 22-October 2. VDACS is highlighting 20 agricultural industry exhibits in the center section of the Virginia World building. The newest industry to join the ranks is the Herb Growers and Marketer’s Association. Everyday from 10:00 a.m. on different Virginia foods taste samples will be served to fairgoers for a nominal charge.
Agri-industries on display will include apple, beef, chicken, corn, Christmas trees, dairy, egg, herb, peanut, pork, Shiitake mushroom, soybean, sweet potato and wine.
In addition to individual exhibits, their products will be featured throughout the fair in tasty recipes like. . . beef or pork kabobs, sweet potato biscuits, chicken salad, milkshakes, chocolate apple squares, angel food cake, shiitake mushroom dip, spiced peanuts, coriander cookies and tofu ice cream.
