Next Tuesday, May 1, Washington’s 122 registered voters will elect a new mayor, treasurer and five members of the Town Council.
For the posts of mayor and treasurer, the incumbents, Dean Morehouse andl?rad Fisher, are unopposed. However, there are nine candidates for the five council seats.
The Rappahannock News conducted a brief interview with each candidate, asking for general statements about their candicacy. Each was asked why they decided to run, what they saw as the major issues facing the town, and what they hope to accomplish if elected to the council. Their responses follow, with, the council candidates listed in alphabetical order.
