In a report filed with the Federal Election Commission, the Re-Elect Slaughter for Congress Committee, the campaign organization of Seventh District Congressman D. French Slaughter showed cash on hand of over $274,000.

This report, together with the one filed the first of the year, shows that over $87,000 has been raised since Dec. 1, 1989. These reports further indicate that over two-thirds of the money raised came from individuals; 87 percent of those individuj als were residents of the 7th Congressional District. The average individual gift was approximately $105.

“I am please that my fundraising is going so well,” said Congressman Slaughter, “and that my campaign is drawing such wide support from every comer of the District.”

Congressman Slaughter will be nominated for his fourth term at a district-wide convention to be held at the Albermarle County Office Building in Charlottesville on Saturday, May 12.
