While environmentalist call for national and international controls to combat the frightening scenarios they repeatedly paint, many supposed threats, such as those involving ozone depletion, radon, acid rain, asbestos, and Alar have never been based on credible evidence.
The propanganda is so intense that President Bush has succumbed. When he proclaimed April 22nd to be Earth Day 1990, the President suggested “the formation of an international alliance that responds to global environmental concerns.” This indicates a willingness to transfer the sovereignty of our nation to some international organization such as the UN. This is more frightening than any environmentalist’s wild suggestion.
