Mr. McCarthy suggested that next year the school administration should look at funding 100 percent of a single subscriber’s premium.
School Board Chairwoman Beverly Massie said, “But next year will be catch up time again. We haven’t put in this budget some of the things we should have put in. Next year we will have to put in money for the roof over the auditorium and for redoing the last lab at the high school.”
One area Dr. Gangel said he feels he might be able to cut is the $15,000 allocation for moving the fuel oil storage tank at the elementary school above ground. He said he had decided to recommend this move because he couldn’t find anyone willing to insure the county against leaks when he believed that the county would be liable for up to $1 million in damages.
He said he has since heard that perhaps the county would only be liable for up to $200,000 and the state would assume the rest of the $1 million liability for fuel oil tanks, but he still had not been able to get any quotes from insurance companies. He said that not counting insurance
