Mr. Miller, a former mayor, council member, and member of both the county’s Board of Supervisors and its Planning Commission, came out of retirement from government service to run for a seat on the town council.
“The last thing I wanted to do was to run for government again,” he said. “But a large number of people encouraged me to (run). I just want to see that the wishes of a majority of town residents is carried out. I don’t think that is being done now.
“I want to see people treated equally,” Mr. Miller continued, “with no favoritism to anybody. And I want to make sure it happens before anybody has to point it out.”
The Inn’s expansion will be an issue for the next council, he said, “if the present council doesn’t rush pell mell to get it done.”
