Funeral services were held April 19 at Remington United Methodist Church. The Rev. George Insley officiated. Interment was in the Remington Cemetery.
Katharine Rucker
Katharine Wood Rucker of Falls Church, formerly of Arlington, died April 19 at Meadowbrook in Madison county.
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late James Irving and Mary Catherine Miller Rucker.
A graduate of Radford College with a B.A. degree, and American University of Washington, D.C., with a M.A. degree, Miss Rucker taught history for a number of years at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington. She was a member of the Thomas Helson chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Arlington and the Historical Society of Arlington. She was also active in the work of the Children of the American Revoluntion.
She is survived by two nieces, Mary B. Weddle of Falls Church and Emily M. Jackemeyer of Middletown and several great nieces and great nephews.
A graveside funeral was held April 22 at Washington Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel H. Malcolm officiating.
