Mr. Neufeld, who now serves on the Planning Commission, is seeking his first term on the council.
He sees “growth, and the regulation of growth” in and around the town as the biggest issue facing the council in the future. “I’m not against all expansion and growth, but I would like to see regulation and control.
“It should be done,” he added, “with the benefit of the town in mind, and with concern about how it affects both the town and the county.”
He said he also wants to see the completion of the overhaul of the town’s water system.
“I like the town pretty much as it is,” he said. “I want to see what is best for the town overall, see what the people, the residents want to do. If development has to occur, small or large, I would like to see it regulated with the benefit of the town and its residents in mind.”
Susan M. Parrish
Mrs. Parrish is also a member of the town’s Planning Commission, seeking her first term on the council.
“Public service and volunteerism is something everybody ought to be involved in in some way. I’m interested in town government, and being on the Planning Commission for three years has given me a good background.”
On the issue of the Inn’s expansion, she said, “I would like to see a compromise. Growth has to be measured, and their proposed plan is just too big.”
