After last year’s 12-4 finish and trip to the four-team Bull Run District Tournament, the Rappahannock High varsity softball team exceeded many people’s expectations.
Not content to rest on their accomplishments, however, this year’s squad is “the most coachable and the most positive group ... of all the teams I’ve had,” according to Coach Renee Leake.
She may have cause for optimism. First baseman Sherron Boddie, a senior, and pitcher Susan Payne, a junior, are both coming off being voted second-team all-Bull Run District.
