Mrs. Vance was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Fauquier County, the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Martha Heirell Gordon. She was formerly employed at Aileen Inc. at Flint Hill.
Surviving are four sons, Oscar B. Heflin Jr. and Charles E. Heflin, both of Front Royal, Robert M. Heflin of Bentonville and Larry T. Heflin of Alexandria; a daughter, Rita V. Martin of Alexandria; three brothers, Horton Gordon ' of Hyattsville, Md., William Gordon of Front Royal and Thomas J. Gordon of Bentonville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Heflin, Charles Heflin, Robert Heflin, Jett Pearson, Donald Lee Martin and Mike Heflin.
Nannie Dodson
Nannie Margaret Dodson, 82, of Rixeyville, died Sunday, March 8 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dodson a native of Culpeper County, she was the daughter of the late Moffett and Susie Dodson Jenkins and the widow of Ernest J. Dodson. She was a member of Amissville Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Wesley George Dodson and Floyd Wayne Dodson, both of Rixeyville and Jerry Lee Dodson of Christiansburg; a daughter, Edith Angeline Sevey of Galesburg, 111.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Jenkins of Castleton and Hayward Jenkins of Brightwood and a sister, Gertie Haines of Vienna.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, March 12 at Ami8sville Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Everett officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
