The Rappahannock Grand Jury returned indictments in all six of the cases it heard Monday. Indicted were:
Larry Alden Ingram, 37, of 109 Nelson Alley, Culpeper, for breaking and entering and grand larceny.
Ernest Lee Rooker, 23, of Washington, Va., for grand larceny and tampering with an automobile.
Randy Hitt, of Route 1, Box 251, Castleton, for breaking and entering and grand larceny. • Thomas Roy Berry, 22, of Culpeper, for breaking and entering and grand larceny.
Dana Lynn Hitt, for receiving stolen property.
Samuel F. Kannard Jr., of The Plains, for abduction and malicious wounding.
In other police and court news this week:
• Rappahannock Sheriff John H. Woodwani and Deputy Chris Williams traveled to Abeline, Texas last weekend and returned with a Viewtown man wanted for two counts of felony sexual assault, one count of misdemeanor sexual assault and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Jesus Chavez, 27, decided not to fight extradition from Texas after he was arrested following a speeding charge, said Sheriff Woodward.
Chavez did not jump bail, said the sheriff, but left the state prior to any charges being placed against him. He was in jail Monday morning awaiting a bond hearing Thursday.
The charges stem from an incident involving a 13-year-old girl, according to the sheriff.
• Alan Tharrington, 29, of Virginia Beach was charged with possession of maryuana, speeding and drinking while driving after being stopped by Trooper G.T. Settle at 6:50 p.m. March 3 on U.S. 211, a half-mile west of Route 640, according to Sgt. G.A. Morris of the State Police.
He was operating a 1987 Mazda pickup when he was pulled over for speeding, said Sgt. Morris. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected marijuana, and charges were placed.
• A Spotsylvania man was injured after a two-car accident at the Route 231-U.S. 522 intersection in Sperryville at 5:20 p.m. March 7, according to Sgt. D.S. Adams of the State Police.
