Josephine Groves

Josephine Dennis Groves, 69, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Front Royal, died Wednesday, March 4 in Luray.

The funeral was conducted Monday, March 9 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Burial was in Harmony Memorial Cemetery in Maryland.

Mrs. Groves was bom July 20, 1922 in Washington, Va., the daughter of Millie Dennis Fletcher of Luray. She was the wife of the late William Roy Groves Sr.

Surviving with her mother are a daughter, Peggy Ann Watts of Washington, D.C.; two sons, William Roy Groves Jr. and Randolph Groves, both of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

A Christian wake was held Sunday, March 8 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Price Mitchell

Price William Mitchell, 82, of Front Royal, died Sunday, March 8 at the V.A. Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, March 10 at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. David Sterling. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell was bom July 28, 1909, in Floyd County, the son of the late Elbert J. and Clara Smith Mitchell. He was a retired employee of the Town of Front Royal and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 829 and the American Legion Giles B. Cook Post
