Wood was
instrumental
To the Editor
I'd like to express my sincere appreciation to Del. Jerry Wood, DRappahannock, for his leadership role on House Bill #71. The citizens of the 31st District can be proud of the excellent work Del. Wood has done in his first term.
H.$. 71 is a consumer bill calling for a one-line prescription drug form that will allow for the dispensing of generic drugs unless specifically requested otherwise by the physicians.
The American Association of Retired Persons, which endorsed the bill, has calculated the savings to consumers in the first year alone is approximately $70 million. This bill will be especially helpful to senior citizens on fixed incomes.
Del. Wood’s testimony before numerous committees was factual and instrumental in making this bill a reality.
