Warren County High School and a native of Warren County. She will be making her home in Rappahari} nock County. She is a member of Front Royal Presbyterian Churchi Phi Mu Sorority and a past member of the Richmond Alumni Board of Randolph-Macon College. She is th< daughter 6f Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Welch of Front Royal.
“The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center’s development program over the past five years demonstrates bold vision for facilities and youth development. I believe that Karen Bowling’s energy and experience will enable the superb resource development program initiated by Sally Miller and John Dooley to continue,” said Lee Hood Capps, 4-H Center director.
The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center serves the 26 counties comprising the Northern Virginia Cooperative Extension region. The 4-H Center is located between Chester Gap and Front Royal on U.S. 522.
The 4-H Center’s 229 acres were originally a part of the U.S. Remount Station. The Conference Center Complex and lodging of the 4-H Center can accommodate groups between 15 and 375. Approximately 200,000 area residents participate in functions at the 4-H Center annually.
The center’s grounds, trails, primitive camping and picnic shelters, are open 364 days a year to the public at little or no cost.
