I expect a graduate to be prepared to go on college if they so choose; I expect other graduates to be prepared to enter the job maijket at any entry level position and possess the skills and knowledge to perform that job satisfactorily. To do this they must be able to fill out a job application with neatnes4 and precision and be prepared to convince an employer to hire them.

/The Rappahannock graduate must have a strong basic education that will mainstream him/her into any college or vocational trade school of choice. If the student elects not to continue schooling, they must be prepared to enter the work force with the basic knowledge taught at the Rappahannock school system. With emphasis on the three R’s J reading, writing, arithmetic) and select eleative studies, our graduates will be prepared for the challenges that face them.

The graduates of Rappahannock County should be able to compete with and surpass graduates from anywhere for admission to the college of their choice. Likewise, for those that do not choose college or do not go straight to college, they should have demonstrable learning skills that would enable th&n to do well in the trade or technical job of their choice. ..8, Bryant Lee - The graduates of Rappahannock should have every opportunity made available to them to acquire the education and experience needed to assist them in reaching their career goals. In this day and age, that means passing the Standard of Learning Tests which indicates that the individual has a good basic knowledge of English, mtfth, history, government, and geography. This lays the foundation for them to become a good citizen in the community. To make this possible, the people of Rappahannock need to back the best educational program from the available funding. If elected supervisor, I will support enriching the educational program at Rappahannock as I have done for the past twelve years as a member of tfie School Board. an.

The Rappahannock graduate must be proficient in the basics-reading, writing, rqath, and computer science. All students must have skills necessary to enter the labor forte in the State. College-bound students should have sufficient skills to permit them to dO 'Well in college. They must have developed good study habits and be able to learn on their own. In addition to the basics, I would like to see that all Rappahannock graduates are firmly grounded in the subject of Character Virtues as presently taught in the school system. I would stress the importance of .virtues such as “Honesty” and other virtues that reflect our Nation’s traditional moral values. My father taught me that a man will be known by his reputation for honesty and that a reputation for honesty and hard work will bring success. My wife teaches Chorus in high school. She recently discussed with the students the importance of being kind to one another. In our desire to achieve excellence, we,can never overlook these simple basics.
