When asked about plans for generating jobs in the Jackson District, the responses varied. Frazier said that he would continue to work with the Board of Supervisors to keep government out of business and allow individuals to attract businesses to the villages. He thinks having welleducated high school graduates will help, but added “You won’t see large employment facilities here because of where we are.”
Atkins commented that the Board of Supervisors should do some long-range planning and work to bring high-tech, environmentally clean industries into the county. Brown hopes that the Comprehensive Plan will allow for conveniences (bank, drug stores, etc.) to come into the villages.
