At a special meeting on Sept. 29, Washington Town Council tabled Sunnyside Farms’ application for changes to the Clopton House and demolition of parts of the summer cottage. The council has asked David Cole, owner of Sunnyside Farms, for more detailed plans of specifically what he wants to do with those two buildings.
Cole has withdrawn his proposal to demolish the south and west additions to the Gay Street Mercantile building in favor of an addition to the north side of the building and parking on the south side.
At their October meeting, the council will set a date for a special meeting to reconsider the matter.
