If elected supervisor I would be taking twelve years of experience as a school board member which I think will help to bridge the gap between the Board of Supervisors and the School Board. I also plan on staying in close contact with the school and School Board as I have done in the past. I have participated in a School Board retreat and I have seen how this can make the board work better as a whole. I would be more than willing to participate in a joint board retreat and more than willing to propose it to both boards.

I think it would be good for a member of the Board of Supervisors to attend School Board meetings on a rotating basis so that all can be familiar with School Board activi-,«; ties. I would be willing to do so. I woul#' also be willing to participate in a retreat with School Board members if other members voted to do so. As a member of the Board of Supervisors, I would encourage School Board Members to join me in spending time at the schools; sharing our concerns with students; and, more importantly, listening to students so that we can understand “their” concerns for education in the county. The young men and women of our community have a voice to be heard. We, as leaders, have a duty to listen. If elected, I promise to be an advocate for the children and the young men and women of our community.
