Ms. Gorfein is unhappy with the amount of money being allocated to the Virgipra Land Conservation Foundation. Last fiscal year, the foundation asked for million and was appropriated $1.75 million by the state. She pointed out that Virginia is one of only three states on the eastern seaboard that does hot have a dedicated funding source for land conservation.
Ms. Gorfein observed that there are many powei*flil groups working against land conservation efforts. She said that America is the “healthiest and wealthiest” country in the world, but that Americdtife tend to be greedy and possessive. However, she added “With a little effort, we can tone down those flaws.” ^
