I am writing in response to all the controversy
about the expansion of Hearthstone. First I want to say that I am an undergraduate student at George Mason University and I grew up in Rappahannock. I thank God that I have had the opportunity to further my education unlike some people in the United States •or the world.
I am a supporter of Hearthstone and of every school that gives a child a chance to ! learn and a chance to advance in life. I think ; that some of the citizens of Rappahannock are ! making the expansion situation about the ; Maazels, and not the school and children and, • which is what it should be about, the children. There are so many children in the world who have never had a opportunity to ever attend ! school and it seems to me that you want to ; deprive children in this community and the surrounding communities of this opportunity.
I think that Rappahannock and the people •in this community need to look at the big picture. It is the year 2000. The world’s population continues to grow at a rapid rate. It is evident that whether you or I like it or not every community in the United States will have to expand to support this ever growing population and that includes Rappahannock.
