An intensive two-weekend workshop on writing your life story is being offered in Washington, by Julie Portman, an Obie award winning playwright, teacher * and performing artist.
The workshop is scheduled Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday on June 16, 17, 18 and June 23, 24 and 25. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants. No prior writing ' experience is necessary.
“The course will help you to see and take advantage of the themes that run through your life,” says Portman. “By working with ' autobiography and memoir in a supportive community , of people, you will be able to gather your life experiences under your feet and continue walking forward with greater clarity, courage and joy. Autobiography is not so much about the past but about how the past informs and prepares you to create the future. Both experienced and beginning writers enjoy the same sense of discovery in these sessions.
