Ella M. Rutherford, 81, of Castleton died Wednesday, April 12 at Culpeper Hospital.
She was bom Oct. 30, 1918 in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Silas Settle and Carrie Martin Settle.
She was a member of Hope Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Haywood C. Rutherford, six brothers, Grover Settle, Jim Settle, John Settle, Charlie Settle, Albert Settle and Otha Settle and two sisters, Janie Settle and Myrtle Settle.
Survivors include a son, Clifton Rutherford of Maryland; three daughters, Mae Kenney of Richardsville, Martha Knighting and Anne Kearns, both of Castleton; five grandsons; three granddaughters; three great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
Also surviving are two sisters, Nina Parker of Amissville and Marie Brown of Culpeper. . Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 15 at Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Sandy Martin officiating. . Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Kearns, Howard Kenney, Donald Kenney, Downing Lee Hitt, Elmer Parker and Ronnie Parker.
