1787.” Was this where the old “Bryan Meeting House” once stood?

Our faith said yes, the facts were still inconclusive.

We had been told the old Bryan house was on a hill near the church. So, on the assumption we had found the church, we began knocking on doors of nearby residents to see if they might help us locate the house. At the first residence, we could see an elderly lady sitting just inside her front door. By the time we got to her door she was gone and did not respond to our knock. As we walked to the next house, we could see her peeking at us through her window. We were definitely strangers and evidently were too suspicious for her taste.
