that our teenagers have learned that little kids are o.k.
She maintains a childlike behavior of her own in keeping with the ones she guides and directs. In fact, she is probably having a better time than anyone.
Her name is Hazel Zinn-Day and she is the heartbeat of 4H in Rappahannock.
Hazel approached me several years ago and asked me what I thought of starting a 4-H Drama Club and whether or not I would like to be a volunteer leader. It was just after the first 4H sponsored Talent Show and she was interested in getting a drama club started after she realized that there were many talented children in our area that might want to be involved.
I went to that first meeting, along with Mary Waggoner, and suddenly the two of us drove away from the 4-H Extension Office realizing that we had just started a new club. Hazel is like that. She gets you involved, but then she keeps you involved with her energy, her enthusiasm and her never ending willingness to make sure that you are getting all the support you need.
Thanks, Hazel, for all you do and for challenging all of us to keep our selves and our children involved in a positive and . creative atmosphere.
This Talent Show was a good one, that is for sure. But it never would have been the success it was without your help. For all that you do, God bless you!
