Returning for the first time since the 1940’s Lt. Col. Robert Miko of Washington will rendezvous in Kunming, China with over 300 American veterans and their Chinese allies for a time of reunion and reflection on their past experiences in the China-BurmaIndia theatre during World War II.
In this not-for-profit, nonpolitical event hosted by the Beijing Aviators Association, Sino-American World War II veterans will converge on Kunming, China April 24, where they will commence their reunion with a memorial ceremony at the Hump Flying Monument.
The monument was built 'in 1993 to commemorate the massive and dangerous airlift that supplied American and Chinese forces with over 650,000 tons of ammunition, guns, medical supplies and .food as they waged war against Japanese forces.
