details with her three little ones in tow, and with the gracious assistance of Betsy Toth, set up the lighting cues for Arlen Sherwood, who will run the lights during the performance. Father Rob Sherwood acted as production assistant while younger son, Keenan, joins other home schooling students Windham Lucking, Sean Mullan and Oliver Brass as prop crew.
Lyt Wood’s musical talents add magic and delight to the play as he sets the mood with recorder and hammered dulcimer during interludes. He also accompanies the children as they sing songs that were composed with Carol Lucking as part of the play writing experience.
There is no set fee for this performance so that community members can feel welcome to bring their families. Donations of any amount will be accepted at the door so that costs of the production and rental of the theater can be recovered. It is hoped that yearly children’s productions can continue in Rappahannock, through the schools, churches and community groups, keeping opportunities for creative expression flourishing.
