Among the models for Sunday’s fashion show sponsored by the Rappahannock Woman’s Club will be Renee Ellis of Amissville, who will model riding apparel from the Horse Country Saddlery in Warrenton. Other fashions from Peebles in Warrenton will also be modeled.

In a brief meeting March 11, the Washington Town Council voted to establish Washington clean-up days the week of April 5 through 11 and to offer a special trash pick-up to town residents as in previous years. On a motion by Dorothy Hawkins, council voted unanimously for clean-up week.

Roger Batchelder listed five pieces of land and/or dwellings and encouraged readers to celebrate the advent of spring and the full moon by buying one or all of the above.

March 21,1991

Tfeenage brothers Sam and Kevin Kilhefner of Amissville were sworn in as American citizens during a special ceremony in Arlington for the adopted foreign children of Americans two weeks ago. Sam, 14 and Kevin, 12 are students in the Culpeper school system. Their father, John Kilhefner is the cartoonist for the Rappahannock News.

For the first time ever, the Old Dominion Hunt Ball will be held at a restaurant in Rappahannock County, the School House Restaurant in Flint Hill. Hunt member Sheila O’Brien, proprietor of the School House, said she is “very excited about it,” and very busy with the preparations.

RCHS honor students participating in the “Save a Sweetheart” campaign to combat smoking were pictured and included: Sponsor Frieda Herman, Amy Kellert, Michele Raynor, Diana Hudson, Pam Peyton, Michelle Earley, Jennifer Dodson, Chris Sutton, Jan Herman, Susan Estes, Jenny Hole, Tai Million and Teacher Jon Heddleston.

Jeremy Tble, a RCHS student, was given the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter of the DAR’s Good Citizen Award March 10.
