I know the authorities say that this area’s last frost falls sometime in the later part of April, but I always aim to put my seedlings in the ground on Kentucky Derby Day, the first Saturday in May. I don’t want any screw-ups at the last minute.
I think I’ve counted about 50 different flowers that I’m going to grow from seeds this year, not to mention the three different kinds of melons and the three different watermelons.
“Where are you going to put all those plants?” my wife has asked on numerous occasions since the magnitude of this project became apparent.
