The majority rules at the pleasure of the citizenry. A healthy and thriving democracy respects the rights of the citizens with opposing views and promotes lively discussion and debate on the issues. Name-calling and bitterness works at tearing down our precious democracy and calcifies the opposing sides. Nothing is accomplished and the foundations of our democracy are threatened.
