Soccer
Head Coach Carl Gray and his assistants, Mark Ramey (boys) and Pud Meyer <girls*, have selected 40 boys and girls to represent the RCHS Panther soccer program this year.
The boys team has scrimmaged the Culpeper High School Varsity once and will try and get another scrimmage with them later. Baseball
Head Coach Donn Hackney and his Junior Varsity Coach, Mike Tupper have also finalized their team rosters for the 2001 season. The varsity has completed two scrimmages this spring — one with the Blue Ridge Academy and the other with Randolph Macon. NonDistrict play begins this week with games against traditional rivals Page County and Lurav High Schools. Softball
Head Coach Jon Smythe, and his assistant coach, Sherron Boddie, together with Junior Varsity Coach Richie Burke have settled on a young squad to represent RCHS in the 2001 season. The Varsity has played one scrimmage to date. The two teams have two non-District games this week, before the Varsity travels to Carlisle, Pennsylvania for a doubleheader against the girls’ softball team from Carlisle High School.
The first Bull Run District contest will be Tuesday, April 3 against the reigning State Champion Manassas Park Cougars.
