Barbara Lazarow, head designer for Blonder Wallcoverings, feels that borders and scenics have reached a new plateau of artistry. For example, Chesapeake Wallcoverings has introduced several collections with borders painted by important international artists, and collections like “Pitture Veneziane e Trompe 1’OeiP from Italy features architectural designs to delight anybody, who admires the decorative details found at European manor houses.
Technology is making its mark on borders, murals and art pieces as well. Edges are no longer just straight. Many are now cut to follow the contours of bows, swags, flowers, foliage, column capitals, and other intricate shapes. The effects are stunning.
