Phillip Thomas is changing gears this year in his running career. While a student at Rappahannock County High School Thomas made all-state status in track and missed state level competition by, only nine seconds in Cross Couhfry. Now, as an alumni, he is preparing to lead the Panthers to victory in a new way, as assistant coach for this season’s Cross Country team.
Thomas says, practice has only just begun for runners, and as there are no official tryouts for the team many veterans will not return until the beginning of school. Nonetheless, he feels positive about the team from what he has seen thus far.
