Celebrate fruits of summer
The Epicurious Cow invites everyone to join in its second annual celebration of the tomato on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at its market in Ben Venue at the intersection of Route 211 and Route 729. This event will feature 15 different varieties of tomatoes which will be paired with seven types of goat cheeses from around the world. Wines will be offered at a tasting. Norman family reunion
The annual Norman reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 in Washington.
All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please bring a covered dish and a beverage. Plates, cups and plastic utensils will be provided. A picnic lunch will be served around 1 p.m. at the Pavilion “rain or shine.” Bring a chair in case you may need it.
Free Clinic open
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local branch of the Fauquier Free Clinic operates on the first, third and fifth Wednesday evenings of each month in the Rappahannock County Health Department in Washington. Beah m family reunion
The Beahm family reunion honoring George Washington and Nancy Bolen Beahm will be held Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Rappahannock County Recreation Center in Washington. / Farfelu wine festival
Farfelu Vineyards will host a preharvest/grape tasting festival and tour on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30 and 31 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at th^ winery on Route 647 in Flint Hill. Cost is $3 per person, including wine tasting and souvenir glass.
Gid Brown church service^
Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church in Washington will hold a special service on Aug. 31 with Brady Rochester and family from Blackburg, S. C. For the 10 a.m service there will be singing, and for the 11 a.m. service, singing and preaching.
