The family attended Hope Hill Baptist Church.
Cathy has fond memories of taking walks to visit the neighbors, the Dennis family, shopping at Dennis’ Store, fishing and picking strawberries from Rose’s strawberry patch and fresh veggies from her bountiful garden.
Granny also had gorgeous flower beds.
Cathy recalls delicious home-cooked meals that Rose prepared on her old wood stove: chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, biscuits, waffles, pancakes, all homemade from scratch.
Cathy misses her granny and the magical times they spent together here in Castleton. Rose died on a Good Friday in the mid-80s.
