Members of *^the Washington Baptist Church and Trinity Episcopal Church recently returned from a twoweek mission trip to Slovakia.
Washington Baptist Church pastor Phil Bailey was among the group as were Lois Snead, Sam and Wanda Snead, Nancy Kie aind Bob Brown of Fredericksburg.
Lois Snead, a Trinity Episcopal church member, said that while there; congregation members taught roughly 80 children how to speak English, trying to improve upon skills they had already been taught in school.
This was Mrs. Snead's sixth year in Slovakia and Bailey's fifth. She said that for her the highlight of the trip is just spending time with the children.
"The best aspect is being with the childremjt's hard to describe unless youVe done it. They're very bright and outgoing children. They love to sing. They're just wonderful children to be with," she said."
Snead also urged others to participate in similar projects.
"It's a great thing to do. You get a tremendous lift out of it."
