Heather Aylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ranny Aylor recently celebrated her 4th birthday. Friends who enjoyed the occasion were Paul and Jason Brown, Martha Susan Elates, Kristi Clarice and her cousins, Angie and Joey Battaglia.

The Aileen plant in Flint Hill has furloughed 30 employees and has placed 50 others on a three or four-day week. The plant has a usual workforce of 225.
The Flint Hill plant manufacturers blouses and other women’s clothing for the Aileen, Inc. chain of about 130 stores nationwide.
“We sew what the stores sell,” said Joyce Wharton, of Speriyville, one of the furloughed workers.
At the end of a long and emotional public meeting the Planning Commission voted 4 to 2yto recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt an amendment to the zoning ordinance harming the land application of sludge in Rappahannock County.
J. D. Hartman, owner of High on the Hog, will be entering the Best Ribs Championship outside Winchester this Saturday and hopes many of his loyal local customers will come and help him win.
