Ostinato’s love for the past does not end with rare books either. She said she was intrigued when she found out the Sperryville Bookshop was for sale, due primarily to the unique structure it calls home.
“It’s a beautiful town,” she said. “I love the fact it’s an old church. I love old buildings.”
Since spending time in the town she has come to love it as well.
“All of the people I have met here have been so nice and so welcoming. It’s such a beautiful and relaxing area,” she said.
Having grown up in rural West Virginia herself, Ostinato looks forward to the opportunity the store’s rural setting will afford her children, and has not ruled out permanently relocating in the county in the future.
Nor have the Gannon’s ruled out residence in Rappahannock. Gannon said he has no intention of leaving the area, but is not sure of what the next phase in his life will include.
“It’s been a great chapter in our lives,” he said of the bookstore. “I don’t expect to be sitting on any front porches in rocking chairs. Maybe there will be another great opportunity to come along some day.”
