Exquisite dining is not found everyday, especially in remote locations of Virginia.
However, in researching the reopening of Bleu Rock Inn in Washington, this writer found it necessary to explore the cuisine of chef, Jim McCullough.
While most residents of Rappahannock County settled in for a snowy evening at home, a journey out into the falling snow became a rare treat last week.
The drive to Bleu Rock Inn finds a quaint yellow facade, surrounded by a pond and sprawling vineyards, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The coziness of the inn is quite inviting, private dining rooms adorned with beautiful rock fireplaces, and of course a roaring fire on such a cold night.
Paintings by local artists hang on the walls, giving way to the beauty captured around the county on canvas. .
McCullough began the meal with a wonderful Reserve Chardonnay, one of Bleu Rock’s own labeled wines, __ and fresh baked breads.
