that it was one of the smoothest and best pageants not only that the Fire Dept had ever had but that has been held in recent years. An one last big thank you to Kim Atkins who without her hard work and diligent effort this whole process never would have gotten off the ground. We all can’t thank you enough, Kim, and hope that the plaque in some small way can symbolize just how much we all appreciate you. Pack 200 races into the Pinewood Derby
The local Cub Scout pack finally got a chance to race the derby cars they have been working on for the past several weeks. They journeyed down to Marlow Heights Baptist Church in Front Royal to join in with Pack 143. While the rules governing the track specifications and car sizes are very specific the way the boys are allowed to decorate their cars are not. There was everything from a boat to a limo to a humve to a car that was designed to look as if it had been in major combat. Our boys made a good showing with their cars and Nicky Taylor placed 3rd in the combined race between the two parks in the Wolf division! Within our own pack Nicky Taylor placed 1st for the Wolfs and Jacob McDowell Placed 1st for the Tiger Cubs while Will Ubben came in 2nd.
