“Although I am sad to hear about the retirement of a dedicated public servant like Allen Louderback, I am eager to ensure that the 15th District has a capable and responsive representative in the House of Delegates. I have always enjoyed the beauty and character of Rappahannock County and would be honored to represent the folks who call it home. You can be sure that they will never be taken for granted as long as I am their Delegate. Like my good friend Senator Mark Obenshain, I intend to be a strong voice in Richmond for Rappahannock County and the entire 15th District,” said Gilbert when asked about his future plans.
Within a week after Louderback’s formal announcement, Gilbert, who also serves as the Shenandoah GOP Chairman, formally announced his intentions to seek the seat which will be left vacant by the resignation of Louderback who lives in Luray.
In a letter to supporters, Gilbert stated the following.
