There’s a new queen in town. Actually there are several after this past weekends beauty pageant to benefit the Chester Gap Vol. Fire and Rescue Dept.
The crowd was far more than anyone had even hoped for and actually filled the auditorium on the night of rehearsal to capacity. The Fire Dept was there of course to welcome the new queens and to provide refreshments to those who came out to watch and cheer on their favorite contestant. There was such a good turnout with so many people in attendance that the Fire Dept was hard pressed to keep up with the demands for drinks and food!
On that same note a very special thank you is due to both Nora Sealock and Sugie Williams for all of their hard work and effort in cooking the food and helping to manage the tables during all of the confusion. Another thank you is due to Samantha Williams who worked very hard behind the scenes to make this pageant the huge success that it was. No one can remember a pageant in recent years where the Fire Dept was able to raise so many funds in support of its operations.
Before letting everyone know who our new queens are, and our little future firefighters; 1 would also like to let you know who from the Dept gave up their very valuable personal time this weekend to help out in any way they could. A special thank you to: Harold Fisher, Kevin Williams, Adam Moore, Wayne North, Eric Rinker, Jimmy Williams, Jeremy Stonebreaker, and Lee Gibson. When you see these fine men thank them for the effort they have put into helping to steer the Fire Dept back onto the right track.
