claims raw milk gets such a bad rap because of what happened when people first started keeping cows for commercial milking. Cities with large breweries were finding they had an excess of waste and the companies began feeding this waste to cows. Since these cows were in the city and in such confined areas, the combination of poorfood and lack of sun and space caused them to become very unhealthy. Tuberculosis and other illnesses were rampant in that day and age and sick people were often coughing when they milked the cows. Combine these factors with a lack of refrigeration and yes, people eot sick from milk.
