BUYER
The Department of General Services. Leesburg. VA is seeking qualified applicants for a Buyer position. The successful candidate will act as the primary purchasing liaison to County procurement staff on purchases up to $50,000: verify and modify technical specifications; obtain accurate quotes from vendors; monitor expenditures through manual and automated methods to ensure accuracy of budget expenditures; create change orders as necessary. Successful candidate must have proficient computer and spreadsheet skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree with course work in procurement, business, accounting, or related fields; prefer at least 6 months exp. in the procurement of supplies and services. Prefer exp with FAMIS. Access and Excel databases. Prefer Certified Professional Public Buyer certification within three years of hire. Prefer purchasing contracts experience with local government.
