Anyone looking for a new way to achieve fitness needs to look no further—a new trend is right here in Rappahannock County.

“Nia combines dance, martial arts and yoga,” said Kim Foster, the new owner of Quest Movement Art Center, which will have its official opening on Mar. 12, 2005 at 47 Main Street, Sperryville, Va.

In 1983, Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas of Portland, Ore. searched for a non-impact aerobic exercise. Not finding anything, the couple developed a new fitness method they called Nia.

The trend has quickly spread throughout the United States and 39 other countries.
