Institute of Culture and History
Lord Fairfax Community College has announced the creation of the Institute of Culture and History at LFCC, which will provide non-credit courses to enhance understanding of the historical and cultural resources of local communities. These courses cover topics such as genealogy, introduction to Islam, Web research, creative writing, Native American culture, and the Civil War.
A class entitled “1864: Year of Decision in Virginia” will be held at Rappahannock County High School.
The class will meet every Tuesday, Oct. 4 through 29, 2005, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., with a special battlefield tour of 3 rd Winchester taking place on Saturday, Oct. 29. The class costs $90.
