WASHINGTON, DC - U S. Senator George Allen (R-VA) announced recently that the Corporation for National and Community Service awarded a $134,000 grant supplement to Mercy Medical Airlift support volunteer pilots to undertake medical and search and rescue missions in States affected by Hurricane Katrina.
“This funding will help stabilize and improve the condition of life for those affected by this devastating storm and subsequent flooding,” Senator Allen said. “I am so pleased that this fine Virginia company will be able to bring this much needed and vital help in airlifting patients, medical supplies and other humanitarian assistance to our neighbors on the Gulf Coast.”
