School Superintendent Dr. Robert Chappell said neighboring school districts have had good, results from greater inclusion of students with disabilities into regular class life. He said they are “putting in measures to do more, inclusion with those who can do that”. School Construction
update
Spurred by the unusually attractive bond rates at that time, the school system took out a $4 million dollar bond for facility improvements in 2004 and began an extensive package of construction and improvements at the elementary and high school. Plans included a new roof, upgrading the heating and cooling, and a classroom addition at the elementary school. As of the opening of school that new roof is finished and the heating upgrades are nearing completion. At the high school, a new auxiliary gym and a new, vinyl surfaced track were planned.
