Donald F. Hill
Castleton resident
Donald F. Hill, 22, of Castleton, died Thursday, September 8, at his residence.
He was bom on September 1, 1983 in Lafayette, Louisiana to William Farrel Hill and Lisa Dianne McClellan Mullins.
Mr. Hill was a wonderful photographer and talented artist. He enjoyed music and telling stories. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing and collecting stamps and coins. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Jaime Hill of Lignum, two brothers, Andrew Hill of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ian Hill of Fredericksburg, one half brother, Wayne Hill of Salt Lake City, Ut;ih and two half sisters, Weridy Hill of Linton, Indiana and Cynde Hutchison of Hong Kong, Peoples Republic of China.
Additional survivors include his maternal grandmother, and two step grandmothers, a great uncle who helped raise him, and a good friend,
Services for Mr. Hill will be private.
David A. Williams
Family in Chester Gap
David Ashby Williams, 90 of Front Royal, VA passed away September 11 at the VA Nursing Home in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Mr. Williams was bom on September 20, 1914 in Reager, VA, son of Ernest and Nettie Williams.
He served with the US Army Remount in Front Royal, from 1934-1939. Drafted for WWII in 1942, he was wounded in France where he received the Purple Heart and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He married Bertha F. Alger in December 1941.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Donald G. Williams of Rileyville, Va., and Duane A. Williams and wife Margaret of Front Royal, one brother, Albert Williams of Chester Gap.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 14 at Turner-Robertshaw Chapel with Rev. Ralph Thurber officiating. Burial with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 2123 of Winchester, VA.
