Bloxom was actively involved in managing the family’s farm and auto supply company in Mappville Virginia. For almost all of his 26 years in the General Assembly, he was a member of the House Agricultural Committee. He also served as Chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Commission and Chesapeake Bay Partnership. In addition to the Agricultural Committee, Bloxom’s committee assignments included Appropriations, Chairman of Labor and Commerce, Chesapeake and its Tributaries, Rules, Finance, Militia, Police and Public Safety
